Catholic Core Knowledge
At Blessed Miguel Pro, we believe that every child should learn the fundamentals of science, basic principles of government, important events in history, essential elements of mathematics, widely acknowledged masterpieces of art and music from around the world, and stories and poems passed down from generation to generation. It is this background knowledge that provides an excellent education.
Through our Core Knowledge curriculum, we believe we can give our students the foundational knowledge they need to think for themselves and become problem solvers. This is done through a systematic and cumulative approach.
Excellence and Equity for All Children
The Core Knowledge curriculum is built on the foundational principle that each student, no matter the culture they come from, the language they speak, or the economic situation that they find themselves in, can learn and learn at a high level.
Knowledge Builds on Knowledge
Core Knowledge provides a systematic and cumulative curriculum, which means that each year builds on the previous year. It provides a depth of information and allows students to build deep knowledge about diverse things. In turn, this knowledge helps them become a critical thinker and a problem solver.
